BANK Simpanan Nasional (BSN) expects to seal financing facilities worth RM5 million and RM500,000 in premium savings certificate sales at the Malaysia Property Exposition (Mapex) 2012.

The bank also anticipates some 150 applicants for its credit cards during the three-day event, which ended yesterday.

Head of sales at BSN Selangor main branch Azmi Mohd Noor said within the first two days of the expo, the bank received enquiries on property financing worth almost RM10 million.

"Yesterday, we received enquiries on financing for properties valued at about RM3.5 million and today (Saturday) about RM6 million.

"However, we normally do not close deals at the event, just enquiries.

"One week down the road ... then only we would probably see the deals clinched," he told Business Times on the sidelines of a talk held in conjunction with Mapex 2012, here recently.

BSN, which has been participating in Mapex for the past three years, is leveraging on the expo as part of its product branding.

In the first two days of Mapex 2012, the bank received 30 applications for its various credit cards.

"The credit card applicants are also eligible for our ongoing 'Happy Gold Rush' lucky draw," Azmi said.

He said during the expo, BSN offered potential property buyers a zero entry cost financing facility.

The bank also offers second generation financing or loans, and second charge to govern-ment financing.

"The second generation financing is for those who are reaching prime age, while the second charge to the government financing is for those who secured government loans but find that it is not enough.

"So, they can come to us and apply for the additional amount that they need to borrow under the second charge," he said.

Mapex 2012 is organised by the Real Estate and Housing Developers' Association Malaysia.
