penetration rate for banking services to reach 90 per cent nationwide by
end-2014, helped by the services of registered bank agents (EBB).

Deputy Finance Minister, Datuk Ahmad Maslan, said according to Bank
Simpanan Nasional (BSN) statistics, about 75 per cent of the 837
districts with a population of 2,000, had access to at least one banking
facility since the launch of the EBB programme last year.
"This is a tremendous increase from just 46 per cent in 2011," he said at EBB BSN 2012 Awards dinner here Saturday.
Also present were BSN chairman Tan Sri Abu Bakar Abdullah and chief executive Datuk Adinan Maniung.
Ahmad Maslan the use of EBB services could reduce costs by over 80 per cent compared to the set up of a banking branch.
He said the bank agents also benefitted in terms of an increase in customers.
"The services by the EBB is like 'killing two birds with one stone'," he said.
Syarikat Caddy Resources was named as 'Best National Agent' and Hong Leong the 'Best State Agent' at the awards night.
"The awards night was held to honour the commitment of the EBB agents for the good performance in 2012," it said.
From early 2012 to April 2013, the EBB agents had recorded over 4,000 transactions worth over RM561 million.
