KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 13 (Bernama) -- Bank Rakyat opened its 12th branch in
Putatan, Sabah, yesterday, bringing the largest Islamic cooperative
bank's branch network to 137.

The bank opened a branch in Kerteh, Terengganu, and in Kota Marudu,
Sabah, this year and planned to open a branch each in Cyberjaya, Desa
Sri Hartamas and Nusajaya, Johor.
Bank Rakyat recorded a higher profit of RM1.62 billion, before tax and zakat, for the first nine months ended Sept 30, 2012.
As of Dec 31, 2011, the bank's asset stood at RM72.48 billion.
