KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 13 (Bernama) -- The Philippines is keen to work with
Malaysia on the management of haj pilgrims for its Muslim community,
Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Jamil Khir

He said this was conveyed by the secretary of the National Commission on
Muslim Filipinos (NCMF), Mehol Sadain following the experience and
success of the Malaysian Pilgrims Fund Board (Tabung Haji) in handling
the haj pilgrimage.
"I'm made to understand that they received about 11,000 (applications)
for haj visa, but they were not able to manage it due to several
constraints, including on the flights for the pilgrims and accommodation
in Medina and Mecca for the pilgrims," he added.
He told this to reporters after a thanksgiving ceremony in conjunction with the end of this season's haj pilgrimage here today.
Earlier, Sadain paid a courtesy call on him.
