He said this was conveyed by the secretary of the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF), Mehol Sadain following the experience and success of the Malaysian Pilgrims Fund Board (Tabung Haji) in handling the haj pilgrimage.

"I'm made to understand that they received about 11,000 (applications) for haj visa, but they were not able to manage it due to several constraints, including on the flights for the pilgrims and accommodation in Medina and Mecca for the pilgrims," he added.

He told this to reporters after a thanksgiving ceremony in conjunction with the end of this season's haj pilgrimage here today.

Earlier, Sadain paid a courtesy call on him.
