In a statement today, Felda said the BSN agents would enable the
settlers and nearby residents to undertake basic banking transactions
without having to visit the bank.
The service will be operated using appointed Felda settlers who own business premises.
It will also be implemented on business premises owned by Felda Trading Sdn Bhd, or known as D'Mart.
Felda said it hoped the service will assist settlers with business premises to earn some side income.
BSN has at present 3,593 registered agents throughout Malaysia and is confident of raising this number to 5,000 by 2015.
The BSN registered agents programme, launched last year, has recorded
4,554,913 transactions valued at about RM404.858 million as of March 19
this year.
