KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 19 (Bernama) -- Bank Rakyat, for the third time, has
received the "The Most Outstanding Islamic Retail Banking" award for its
outstanding performance in consumer banking.

The award was recently presented at the Ninth Kuala Lumpur Islamic
Finance Forum 2012 by the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Finance
Datuk Wira Dr Serigar Irwan Mohd Abdullah to Bank Rakyat's Acting
Managing Director Datuk Yusof Abdul Rahman.
The bank bagged the same award in 2007 and 2009, it said in a statement.
Bank Rakyat recorded a pre-tax profit and zakat of RM1.06 billion, up
7.7 per cent, for the half year ended June 30, 2012 against RM0.98
billion recorded in the corresponding period last year.
