Haj Registration Through ATM - Bank Rakyat

KUANTAN, June 12 (Bernama) -- The public can now register for the haj by using the Automated Teller Machine (ATM) without going to the Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) counter.

TH Chief Operating Officer Datuk Kamarudin Mat Ali said the public could do so at Bank Kerjasama Rakyat Malaysia Bhd (Bank Rakyat), Maybank and Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad ATMs nationwide.

"This is a new facility to the public, they need no longer go to Tabung Haji, just register through the ATM machines.

"The individuals must have accounts with TH and are holding the cards of the banks in question," he told reporters here Wednesday.

He said the individuals must have a minimum saving of RM1,300 in the TH account.

Furthermore, he said the public could register for the haj online by surfing the Tabung Haji website at www.tabunghaji.gov.my.

Earlier, he handed a business tithe of RM2.4 million to the Pahang Islamic Affairs and Malay Customs Council.

The tithe was handed to the Sultan of Pahang, Sultan Ahmad Shah at Istana Mahkota here.
