PETALING JAYA: A total of 1,803 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) had been granted a total financing package of RM2.9bil by SME Bank to support their investment and working capital requirements in 2012, as compared with 1,407 SMEs totalling RM1.7bil in 2011.

In a statement, SME Bank said going forward, the bank would continue dealing with various challenges “effectively and efficiently.”
The bank would introduce various initiatives as appropriate to uphold the Government’s mandate and support its objective of SMEs contributing 41% to the nation’s gross domestic product by the year 2020, it added.
