KUALA LUMPUR, June 27 (Bernama) -- The Inland Revenue Board (IRB) has
appointed Bank Rakyat as its 13th collection agent, said its deputy
chief executive officer of tax operations, Datuk Mohammad Sait Ahmad.

Mohammad Sait said with the appoint of Bank Rakyat, the tax payments could be done at the bank's 141 branches nationwide.
"Besides Bank Rakyat, the other collection agents are CIMB Bank, Public
Bank, RHB Bank, Maybank, Alliance Bank, Hong Leong Bank, Citibank, POS
Malaysia, Ambank, OCBC Bank, Affin Bank and HSBC Bank," he said after
the signing of the memorandum of understanding with the bank here
Thursday.
He said the bank's services will be strengthened with the introduction
of its Internet banking, i-Rakyat, in the second half of this year.
Meanwhile, IRB's director of payment services and information division,
Azizol Ahmad, said 20 per cent of the tax payments to the board was done
electronically.
