KUALA TERENGGANU, July 7 (Bernama) -- Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) has
allocated RM2.4 million to buy 20 hearses for mosques nationwide.

Terengganu BSN director Albhar Mohd Tahar said one unit was contributed
to the Kampung Maras Mosque situated in Batu Rakit near here.
He said BSN had so far, contributed 13 hearses to selected mosques in
the country, adding that they were selected based on their need and to
facilitate burial.
"BSN fully supports cooperation from the banking sector to carry out
the Muslim community social development agenda. The provision of the
hearses is part our social responsibility through tithe under BSN's
Islamic Banking Scheme," he said.
Albhar was speaking to reporters after the hearse presentation ceremony at the Maras Mosque in Batu Rakit here Sunday.
He said all tithes for the 2013 financial year amounted to RM4.6
million and BSN would distribute the money to zakat collection centres
in each state and zakat recipients nationwide.
